Rev. Kelvin Sim has been ministering since 1988. He pioneered Church of Praise Johor Bahru, Malaysia from 1988 till 2005. He then, came to Melbourne Australia in Oct 2005 and served in ‘Australia for Christ Fellowship’ as a Senior Pastor till February 2008. Currently he is planting a new work called Life Solution Christian Church.  He has been preaching, training and equipping leaders for this generation. Much of his work is done in Asia and Asia Pacific Regions where he ministers quite extensively. He believes in being different in order to make the difference. He is married with a lovely wife, Irene Sim and they have 3 grown-up children: Sean, Bryan and Veryn.

Rev Kelvin and Irene Sim come from Malaysia, born in Melaka. Kelvin came to know Christ when he was 19 years old. He then pursued Management Administration Course while simultaneously working for a bank. After two years of work and studies, he heard God’s mandate clearly when he studied the book of Haggai and the book of Nehemiah. The challenge stirred his faith to take up the step to enrol into Bible College of Malaysia. The call of God was obvious.

From 1985- 1987, He took up Diploma in Theology. Though lecturers advised him to continue his Bachelor of Theology, he decided otherwise. He was burdened to pioneer a church in Johor Bahru, capital city of Johor, Malaysia.

In 1988, He did the ground work and launched the ministry called Church Of Praise JB. It took 5 years before the church started the growth momentum. While serving this growing church, he decided to continue his Bachelor of Theology studies and completed it in 1999. Knowing the need to increase his knowledge, he pursued his Master in Ministry in Theological Centre for Asia in Singapore and completed it in 2003.

Rev Kelvin has grown in his ministry and continues to serve in making high impacts especially in the area of inspiring churches to press forward and to motivate believers to grow and intensify in their faith in the midst of challenges which are unavoidable in life. Kelvin had served his first pioneering church for 17 years before he received his Macedonian call to help rebuild a church in Melbourne Australia. After more than 2 years in this church, he then took a bold step to pioneer another work, a new fresh birth, called Life Solution Christian Church, affiliated with the Assemblies of God of Victoria.

Rev Kelvin’s aim is to proliferate  God’s truth where the grace of God can be effective. By so doing, he desires to help others build more churches in their own context cross-culturally, especially in Asia and Asia Pacific. By and large, Training and Education will be provided. Hence, Rev Kelvin intends to initiate a Church Planting Bible Institute and Children-Teachers Kindergarten English Program to promote English Education in third world countries.

Right now, he spends his time building this new work and also helps other churches to move forward and move in the power of the Holy Spirit. His entire motto articulates his perspective of who Jesus is to mankind, that is, “You Can Live Again”. This means that God’s grace is sufficient for us to live again meaningfully. Thus, one should not live frivolously. This is constantly implied in his preaching and teaching.
